  1. Did not know that Mick Ronson played, in addition to guitars, these iconic piano phases for Bowie and Reed, too.

    1. @@DavidBennettPiano Sounds excellent mate. Any idea what the micing set-up was. Really captured the extra height of that U3.

  2. The opening notes of Scenes From an Italian Restaurant sound like Where is the Lid by Fry and Laurie!!

  3. I’m often in debate about what my favourite Springsteen album is: “Born to Run” or “Darkness on the Edge of Town”. But man, those opening chords to Thunder Road… that song just twists my heartstrings instantly.

    1. BTR is my favorite of those two, but my all-time favorite is The River

  4. Nightswimming is just about the only song (non-simplified) that I can play on the piano. <3

  5. Not to sound like I’m obsessed with Billy Joel, but half of his catalog has piano intros at least as good as some of the ones you played. Just a few for thought: Miami 2017, Captain Jack, Summer Highland Falls, Streetlife Serenader, The Stranger, Vienna, Just the Way You Are, New York State of Mind, etc, etc.

  6. Great! Now for the next one: Nina Simone – My Baby Just Cares for Me, Tom Waits – Johnsburg Illinois, and I’m sure Procol Harum must have several, at least Grand Hotel.

  7. Lovely to see you playing a piano with real strings and actions instead of the digital one. 👍👍🎹🎼🎶🎶😘

  8. McCoy Tyner, my favorite pianist of all time.
another honorable mention piano intro from 1967: She’s a Rainbow by the Rolling Stones.

  9. Please do a whole episode of playing Every Little thing she does is magic-its gorgeous!

  10. when he gets to runaway its such a different vibe and really just takes the air out of the room

    1. I know. I saw Kanye‘s name pop up and I was like, gross… Killed the mood

  11. 21:38. This one is my favorite. All of those complex harmonies bring a tear to my eye 😢

  12. hoppípolla just hits on another level… especially once that bass kicks in. mega.
