Hello!
Here's the full version of my piano cover of "KICK BACK", the opening theme from Chainsaw Man!
I'm using a new camera angle this time (I guess my face is no longer a secret anyway).
The full version of this cover has a lot of surprises. Here are some things to look out for:
1:33 – Classical music reference! In the second verse, left hand, I snuck in the main motif from Chopin's Sonata No. 2 in B flat minor, Op. 35 🙂
1:50 – Hope you practiced your A-flat major scales for the right hand.
1:53 – The second pre-chorus (or the bridge?) is one of my favorite sections in the song. I'm pretty sure Daiki Tsuneta helped arrange this section in the original song – the bellowing string section reminds me of King Gnu's Sakayume so much.
2:46 – The coda is the ultimate, insane climax. You really have to put everything you got and play with full force (tutta forza!)
I really enjoyed the first episode of Chainsaw Man. I'm sad we are only getting 12 episodes… for now at least.
