Honestly, I really think Animenz should be on the next piano lesson books. So many unique techniques, 3 hands technique, orchestral/piano composition knowledge, piano arrangements structures… Animenz is just revolutionary to me.

@l3oke.tto_0926 Plenty of Animenz’s arrangements are good for intermediate players. You don’t need to be a professional to attempt his stuff. Plus he uses a lot of techniques you don’t often see elsewhere, and I can see value in some explanations, and his point of view on them.

@Lava_kg No, it isn’t, at least not the technique itself. A lot of his applications of the technique are unique, but the ‘three-hand technique’ has been around for a long time, rising in popularity during the romantic era, mainly due to the works of Thalberg, and thus, the technique is also referred to as the ‘Thalberg effect’. You’ll find that composers such as Liszt, Mendelssohn, Rachmaninoff, even Chopin and Brahms to an extent, utilise this technique or a version of it.
I can give you some examples, if you’d like!

I’m actually surprised no one has made a prototype vibrato mechanism on an acoustic before. I feel like it should be possible to make the tuning pins move up and down a little bit when the pianist moves the depressed key side to side
