It's been this month since I started learning piano and it's been a fantastic and rather life altering experience! You may believe life altering is a little over the top … however for me it really is true, as this September I will end up being a -time music trainee at University and I'm beyond excited for that!

I chose to make my own development video, after enjoying many myself prior to lastly devoting to purchasing my own digital piano. Who knows, possibly if it wasn't for those videos I wouldn't have ever taken that first step, which is insane to think recalling now! That's why I decided it was necessary for me to record these clips and make a video, in hopes of encouraging somebody else to take up an instrument, offering it there all and seeing where they can opt for it too.

Up up until month 8 I utilized Jane's piano tutorials to find out 99% of the music I learnt. She is a retired math instructor and commits her spare time to playing through asked for pieces by viewers each and every single day! Mainly all classical pieces have a tutorial and lots of popular computer game, anime, television shows and film structures can be found on her channel. If you actually wish to discover but can't manage a teacher, I think this would be your finest choice.
Jane's channel:.

There are a couple of pieces I learnt on my own and for lessons which I didn't put in the video due to time/not recording, so listed below is a more detailed breakdown of what was taking place each month:.

  1. I don’t mean to show off but after two years of practice I can play twinkle twinkle little star with only two mistakes.

    1. @Maria P It takes time , practice and after a while, it becomes better and better

  2. Him after 3 weeks: *plays fur elise flawlessly*

Me after 5 years: *can only play the first 7 notes*
Thanks for all the likes 🙂
Guys I know he put a lot of time into piano and that’s why he is really good. This is just a joke.

    1. @Rohan Sathish yeah you are pretty slow, i learnt it within 15 minutes of improvising and got it perfect

    2. its just the first section of it, the part that comes after it is the real deal

    1. @Chava Ambuehl fake? This guy took his time to learn all that for you to just call it fake….🤡 smh

  3. Y’all just jealous if you think this is fake. I just learned Hungarian Rhapsody no 2 in just 1 week. I practiced 40 hrs a day and it’s possible.

    1. I feel you,I’ve practiced so many songs for like 45 hours a day too

    2. for 1 year of me learning piano, i learnt the notes, tempo scales etc. its impossible for him to learn fantaisie impromptu in just a year without the music basics, unless he plays another instrument. fantaisie impromptu is a piece not for people who studied only for a year, i think you should go slow when learning

    3. LOL 40 hours a day. Someone call an ambulance because you’ve got me dyin’ over here 🤣

    4. TOCAR TODOS TOCAM HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA TOCAR BEM JÁ É UMA OUTRA CONVERSA.COPIAR É UMA COISA ,SABER É OUTRA ,FAKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  4. I don’t know you. But I have to say this…I’ve played guitar for over 20 years. I decided to learn to play piano, and after 1 year of practicing piano…I’m still practicing. Honestly this is very difficult to believe.

    1. @TFUS TMULS bruh fantaisie impromptu with dynamics that are good at one year nah. no way hes playing polrhythms in one year

    2. Actually, it is definitely possible. It just depends on how much talent you naturally have

    3. @Neril Catte No matter how much innate talent you have, you aren’t gonna be playing fantaisie imrpomptu in 2 years, let alone one.

    4. @Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin Why not? Fantasie impromptu is a lot easier than it seems. It lies very well under the hands. I memorized 75% of the piece in 2-3 hours to a decent tempo when I first started learning it so it’s definitely possible after 800+ hours of focused practice that this guy put in.

    5. @Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin Definitely not common. But it is possible if you’ve been listening to music a lot and have love for it. I’ve seen it. There is always a matter of quality though.

  5. Good stuff! I just finished my own 1 year progress video myself. What you put into practice is what you get out. Great to see your work

    1. Well whether his is fake or not is up for everyone’s own interpretation and I respect that. I can’t claim to be a piano expert/teacher so I can’t say whether or not his is. Mine is legit though and that’s all I can say lol

    2. @RandoDano Teachers commented below that it’s a fake. It’s obvious to anybody that this guy is lying. You can even see that the whole thing is staged.

  6. If I knew that I would have the same progress as you did in a year, I would definitely start practicing from today!

  7. I’d love to believe this was real but honestly you had feel and dynamics at week 1, I feel like that’s the only thing that sets professionals apart from beginners, you’ve definitely been playing for longer

    1. @xeon0100 Right. I sit down at the piano, knowing nothing, and I play a scale. I don’t think so!

    2. @Ruth do you see teacher in this video? He claims it’s first day of playing

    3. yea ur right i feel bad for the people that think its real and think you can learn all this in a year ):

  8. Like you, I’m learning so I can play pieces from my favorite games. Final Fantasy. Nice to have that inspiration from you that from practice comes perfection. Thanks bro!

  9. I’m thinking of starting to learn the piano myself. But this is looks so crazy. Great dedication. 🙂👍🏻

  10. Wonderful video!! You are a great inspiration for me! Thank you!! I hope to soon become a piano player too and be able to play my favourite piano pieces songs and more!
So congratulations for this nice video and for sharing your piano playing journey and your progress during the 1 year time frame with us.👏👏👏🤗🤗
I hope you don’t mind me asking, but could you please tell me the name of the piano song/piece/music you used in the intro of the video where you wrote your description and explanation regarding your piano playing journey?
    Thank you

  11. Brings tears to my eyes! I started learning piano around your age in a similar way and with similar dedication for a couple of years, but I think you have much better talent 😉 Obsessed with Chopin’s music too, we are so blessed to come to this world after him, to be able to enjoy his music.

  12. Yeah you could tell he knew his way around a keyboard even on “Day 1”. I’m sure his improvement was genuine but I’m pretty sure he’s played the piano at some point in early childhood.

  13. thank you for describing your journey in the video description – answered many questions i had 😀

PS – you’re nailing it my friend – more power and practice time to you !!!

  14. I can’t even imagine, how many people gave up on piano because of comparing own real little tiny step-by step progress with this absolute liar. Guys, piano takes time, so just keep practicing and in several years you’ll be proud of yourself.

    1. @Xiao Wen He’s clearly not “most” learners, is he? I think people can be adult enough to appreciate a bell curve of talent, and this guy would appear to lie at the upper edges of natural talent. No point being disillusioned or bitter about it, it’s natural human variation. We aren’t all the same, and life would be horrifying if we were. Instead of indulging people’s jealousy and scepticism, it would be better to just explain that progress varies for everyone. People learn in different ways, at different rates. An hour or two a day is perfectly believable to me – some people can practice for several hours and it’s counterproductive because they get exhausted and bored. 60 minutes of focused, energised work should be more than enough for a committed beginner with some degree of natural musicality to make good progress. Will they be as able as this guy? I don’t know, my guess would be he’s naturally musical and perhaps plays another instrument. There’s no good reason to suggest he’s a liar, though. That’s mean-spirited and pointless.

    2. @Isla Adele Nah, we’ve misfocused. It’s not our fault for not accepting the genius, it’s the genius’s fault for pretending to be the same as us. He knew how many actual hours he’s done, he knew people would naturally assume they can be the same good in just one year by 2 hours per day of practice and he knew actually they cannot make it, and he doesn’t care. “Lying” is not just deliberately giving wrong information, if you hide essential information that people should know, you already lied. So what’s the purpose of posting this video? To motivate? Then it’s a total failure as it scares people rather than encourages them, and potentially hurts them (when after one year, most people find themselves not anywhere near this guy’s level). It’s an easy fix, just tell people how many hours you’ve done, or amend the title to “this is my one year, but maybe your 3 years”, then the problem is gone. But did he do that? No. So, see? Who’s mean-spirited and pointless?

    3. @Xiao WenI don’t get your point at all, I’m afraid. I don’t think the guy’s a genius. I think he’s made decent progress and he obviously loves playing, but a genius? Far from it. His technique needs a lot more work and he doesn’t play with the finesse or emotion of a seasoned player. That’s okay, it’s only been a year and he’s a beginner. But it’s not like he’s presenting himself as a complete player at this point. He has a long way to go. I think he’s great motivation because he shows that age is no barrier to learning if you love something and are prepared to work at it. Viewers just have to be mature enough to accept that we’re not all the same cuz we’re not robots and natural talent is going to be a huge factor in how quickly someone progresses.

    4. @Isla Adele and that’s why you can’t get my point, I choose to trust many comments here but not this guy, many people have reported they can’t make this progress even after years, I trust them and I believe many of those people also practiced very regularly but they still can’t play well enough, so we’re reasonably sceptical about the how much real practice he’s done. I’d rather believe this guy is genius, if not, many of us are absolutely stupid on playing piano. I say again, the problem is why he didn’t tell how many hours he played this year? Not likely to less than 600 hours, probably more than 1200 hours (approx 3.3 hrs per day). I can believe you can do even better by practicing 1500 hours (4.9 hrs per day) but you will still tell me it’s just in one year, don’t you? You said he just want to show adults can do it, I tell you, if he has 3 hours to play each day, he’s already not a normal adult, only students and retired people has that much free time. To be fairly respectful, I already gave my advice, he should tell people how many he did in that one year, otherwise his video is useful to nobody.

    5. idk if hes lying or not but the way he plays fantaise improptu isnt that sync, like the triplets

  15. Seriously? took you over a year to be playing like this? It took me only 2 weeks, averaging 5 minutes per day.

Now, after almost 2 months of intense practicing (up to 10 minutes everyday), I’ve switched my focus to teaching Lang Lang.

    1. @annika zhang Damm bro u suck, I have playing piano for 5 second and can easily play moonlight sonata 3rd movement with One finger whilst listening to cardi b on full blast with my headphones on

  16. Excellent musicianship, feel, and progress– albeit you’ve clearly had some experience with sitting at the keys prior to starting this dedicated practice… or you have a level of prodigious inclination slanted toward auditory processing. Either way, well done! This is inspiring!

    1. There is not a doubt in my mind that this is fake. Fantasie Impromptu after a year?
On day one he’s playing a scale, day 4 he’s reading sheet music.
Common, he’s not even trying to hide it.

  17. I think maybe he considers the time he bought his own piano as the time he started, but no one else could possibly think that he was an absolute beginner. At minimum, when he committed himself to piano, he had the equivalent experience of a 2-3 year player if not more.

Very hard to believe a from scratch beginner could develop just the pinky strength and coordination to play Fur Elise in under a month, let alone getting the hands coordinated.

  18. You’ve played before, at least by the ear, and I can tell that you loooove playing the piano! I hope you will keep on playing❤

  19. I remember learning to play “To Zanarkand” 17 years ago. The Final fantasy series has amazingly composed music, so much so I went to the Final Fantasy and friends concert, Nobuo Uematsu performed with his band The black mages. Anyway your video (albeit a few years old) has sparked me to start playing piano again.
