53 years after their break up, The Beatles have today launched what will likely be their final ever brand-new tune, the John Lennon-penned "Now and Then"

The Beatles just released their final song

The beatles career now spans basically the whole history of music recording from basic 2 track tapes to modern AI recording techniques!
Their first two albums were actually recorded in 2 tracks.
@@GianniBosioyep, the first Beatles song recorded on a 4 track machine was I Want To Hold Your Hand
@@mosquerajoseph7305 And there’s a good reason for that: EMI was incredibly conservative at the time regarding studio equipment. One reason is that “old” equipment had been thoroughly tested and could grant solid results, the other reason is that they didn’t want to put into production some equipment that was not thoroughly mastered by their senior engineers. Magic Alex, EMI was not your place for sure! š
@@evanc.5919AI was used to split John’s audio from the Demo, no regenerative AI, the same one used for the creation of Get Back.
The Beatles career no basically stretches from the dawn of recorded music meaning the Beatles were a around in the 1890s? What a moron the OP is.
It’s absolutely amazing that I can tell my children in the future that I was alive and young when the last Beatles song was released. A day to history
I feel you. Me too.
…A day in a life.
Wait until you hear Carnival of Light
I have no children to share it with, but I can tell others though, that I was both alive and young for the first Beatles release, and alive and old for their last. I’ve been sitting in a pile of emotions today, listening to every one of their singles from “My Bonnie” right up to “Now and Then”. I think the only ones I didn’t find on Spotify were “The Beatles’ Movie Medley” (1982) and “Christmas Time (Is Here Again)” 1995.
Same man. Itās such an honor and a blessing that weāre alive to witness this piece of music history
Now and than … I have already listened to it ten times and I dare say that this was, above all, a more spiritual experience for me. A beautiful composition that miraculously reunited The Beatles – John, Paul, George and Ringo and of course all of us on this beautiful planet. Thank you The Beatles for being and always being in my heart ā„ļø
I’ve brought up my kids on Beatles music and now my grandkids. I would have been ecstatic if Now and Then was an upbeat song (She Loves You, I Want to Hold Your Hand, etc.), but this was such a fitting tribute to all of them.
I’ve listened to it a few times now and it makes me wonder what could have been if John and George were still with us.
It was a great joy to listen to Now and Then. This beautiful song is a timely reminder that the Beatles legacy is a unsurpassed in this century and indeed the previous century. And indeed their legacy changed our popular culture forever. The final string quartets of Beethoven were a summary of the whole of art. The Beatles left us a summation of popular music.
The Beatles will definitely stand the test of time. They were more than a band…they were a phenomenon.
They have already stood the test of time my friend and will continues to do so. When you look at all the Beatles channels, tributes etc on youtube, you see many of the people are only in their 20’s or 30’s
There is no comparison. They released too many absolute masterpieces, and they wrote them all. Then what John did after the Beatles, was write some of the most iconic songs of all time.
Nah, I think theyāre a flash in the pan! Weāll have forgotten them by June ā63.
@@GregorBarclay Agreed. Look out for the new sensation in Pop music to be released by The Newbeats in ’64!
@@GregorBarclaylolol I see what u didā¦I appreciate good sarcasm
I’m not the biggest fan of The Beatles, but listening to Now And Then, I couldn’t think of anything else but that their biggest fans might be feeling exactly what I felt when Linkin Park released Lost, an unfinished song from 20 years ago, featuring the voice of a man who’s not with us anymore. Posthumous songs have a very magical feeling to them
R.I.P., Chester B. ššš½
Exactly man. I felt a similar way when an unfinished album of Princeās was released back in 2021. I was jarring to think about him being gone.
These wonderful artists, who have given us an array of unforgettable music, will always have their fans and loved ones cherishing them forever.
R.I.P. Prince, Chester, John, George, and every other artist we have lost in this day and age.
Iāve been listening to The Beatles for half my life. When you listen to the new song, you can tell that it is 100% a Beatles song. Yet at the same time, it has a modern sound that youāre not used to hearing when you listen to Beatles records, and that leaves me with a very odd but welcome feeling.
So profoundly put at the end, absolutely beautiful. It is so surreal to be alive to witness the very last contribution to a body of work that will last just as long as Bach, Beethoven, Shakespeare etc. We are so lucky to see this history taking place.
Bach N Roll forever š
True.

The Beatles and their music are wonderful proof of how countless people from different cultures and languages, of different ages and genders, can be on the same wavelength and love the same thing. I think it’s so great when I read all the positive comments under Beatles videos, like here!
Yes a worldwide Unification of Joy… I can’t remember the last time that’s… Oh yes, it NEVER happened …. before or since!
Iām just glad this song was finally released. I loved when i 1st heard free as a bird and real love. Nice to know new tech can create new beatles songs from old recordings.
I was born 2 years after John Lennon’s death and had only just graduated from high school when my favorite Beatle passed away, and yet I am now witnessing a true Beatles reunion! I teared up so much during the documentary the Beatles channel released. It was so touching seeing John and George reunited after death with Paul and Ringo. And the song actually turned out really nice after all this time!
Beautifully done David. It was the early 60ās and one of my friends came over with a 45-rpm with four songs on it. Two on each side.
He said his aunt in England sent it to him saying, āThis new rock group, called The Beatles is all the rage in Europe!ā The record had āPlease Please Meā, āLove Me Doā, āI Want To Hold Your Handā and āShe Loves Youā. We were mesmerized and played that record over and over for days! I grew my hair long and bought and sang along with every Beatles song ever since.
Their music shall survive.

I just listened⦠sat on my couch sobbing.. This Band means so much to me. I got into them during Covid. I was working at a pizza place dead end job, fell behind in College, lost a relationship. They got me through so many long drives. So many hard days in the pandemic. Iām so thankful for this band and this final song. Cheers.
This track is a beautiful thing.. feel blessed to have been here to witness it
Yesterday on the way to visit my mother I knew she was dying, and this came on radio. They announced a “new Beatles song,” so I turned up the volume and made myself listen knowing the association I’d always have…only I wish I’d remembered to tell her about it; she’d have liked for me to get to say: “Ma, I heard a new Beatles song.”
There really is just something about The Beatles.
Lost my mom in June and all too well know the feeling of ‘knowing she was actively dying’. It’s a sick, sinking, lost, emptiness. There’s plenty I wish I’d said and that I can’t remember every word that was said. And yes it may forever bother me but I find comfort that it doesn’t completely matter what was said but that I provided comfort and attempts at smiles..at least I think and hope it was the same for you.
I’ve said for a long time that The Beatles will be one of the few cultural artifacts that people thousands of years from now will still listen to or be made aware of. We like to think that what we do will be remembered, but the truth is we won’t be. Shakespeare, Beethoven, and Michelangelo are good examples of what we can expect for The Beatles in terms of cultural memory centuries from now. The rest of us should learn to let go, forget about posterity, and just enjoy the ride.
I was born in early 2000, so I was far off from all other Beatles songs when they were freshly released. Hearing that the Beatles have a new song out, nearly a quarter of a century after my birth, is surreal.
Your obvious love for the Beatles really comes through in this, and it’s moving to witness. Thank you for your heartfelt work!
Excellent video! I learned so much about this last Beatles song that I didnāt previously know. Thank you, David!
