  1. excellently explained, thanks a lot teacher!
I was struggling with my workload(the code i dont want to write)….and after listening to this it feels that the methods mentioned are applicable in general as well.
For me, you are one of the best channels on youtube!

  2. Just look forward to getting back to your best friend, the violin, and making the movements slowly, in those passages you want to get more used to, and get it more natural and exacting every time. Even on bad days, still get used to reaching the right notes from being in different moods. It doesn’t have to sound the same every time.
Enjoy it, and also put in a bit of love and patience.
Also do other things. Make a drink, make phone calls. Then pick up the violin to make another bash at it when feel like it. I mean, keep it open, even all day.

  3. Needed this . Saving this. I overwhelm every time I have had a break from practicing. So Hard to start again feeling “no more breaks!” Even though it has been because of stress… Always one step forward and ten steps back…

  4. Been watching you for years and years , you’ve lost a lot weight , you look good ; how do you play with your finger nails ? I’m 72 beginner – intermediate player , yeah I got to keep my finger nails on my left hand short , thanks , moe

    1. Thank you – i dont, i only have them longer when im taking a break from playing/holiday, then they are back to nothing so i can play again 🙂

    2. @Slynell1or maybe she has the discipline to diet if she wants to. After all it take discipline to get good on the violin.

  5. This video doesn’t apply to me. It looks like I’m the exception. I really enjoy my violin practice sessions. In fact, if I can’t devote at least two hours a day at least four days a week to the violin, it’s a waste of my time. Happy fiddling! 😊🎻🎶

  6. I never dread i’m always excited about next time i have time for it.
The most important thing is to have fun so i always start by just playing some random songs i like on my computer and playing along, i do that for 30m to an hour, after that i do serious practice for another 30m to an hour.
Serious practice includes both trying to learn new sheets and physical exercises that i find challenging.

And honestly the first 6 months i’d just have fun and it actually trained my ear quite well, the only serious practice i did at that time was learning to do a proper vibrato and improving my posture, i didn’t even knew how to read sheet music for the first 6 months.

And then i was able to learn how to read them by just playing songs i already learnt by ear whilst reading the sheets at the same time.

  7. Hey do you have a suggestion for stage fright every time I go on stage to play my violin I nearly faint and I have a performance this Saturday! HELP PLEASE.

  8. Currently on lesson 23 and I have started to allow myself to practice only 20 mins instead of 60 to stop me from giving up altogether 😭
