  1. Next thing would be to get the ed o brien strat and remove the frets haha!

  2. Could we please get a similar video on the gear you use to record and mix YouTube videos? šŸ™

  3. Swelling…what a coincidence: Matt Bennett has a guitar song called ‘i think you’re swell’

  4. Mellotrontastic ! Awesome didactic video as always, David !
In the midst of Tron madness and mayhem, here are three of my personal favourites, aside from the obvious ones of course : Greg Weeks’ Awake Like Sleep, Return to N. Y. by Ak-MOMO and that self-titled piece of wintry warped folk by Storm Corrosion.
Keep up the mind-expanding work !

  5. Love the ambient swell. Really dreamy.

We do guitar rock, so our three pieces of gear we always use in recording are our: Focusrite interface, Boss IR-2 Amp & Cabinet pedal, and the Truetone pedal brick.

  6. Of course, you can use samples of a Mellotron to get the Mellotron vibe without the expense and limitations of the Mellotron Micro.

  7. Not what one typically expects on these ā€œgear I use on everythingā€ types of videos. I was thinking maybe like a preamp, compressor and multieffects unit or something. I got a weird delay pedal, an e-bow and a fretless Strat lol. I love it

  8. The last piece sounds unashamedly Radiohead-ish, and I love it 🄰 Bravo!! šŸ‘šŸ‘

  9. Patiently impatiently waiting for that album to drop. Man those track snippets sounded šŸ”„šŸ”„šŸ”„

  10. Before the vocals came in, I thought your e-bow mix at around 5:00 reminded me of Frippertronics.
Sounded like late 60s Moody Blues near the end.

  11. The E-bow does what a good loud amp does bowing the strings with feedback.

  12. Wow nice voice too!
    Thanks for the video
My 3 pieces of gear would be the Hotone preamplifier, the mini novation launch key and sometimes the boss 3 loop pedal where I have some ideas recorded already!

  13. In case you missed it, David’s got a new album coming out in the Spring…

  14. Interesting stuff! The sounds bring to mind Sigur Rós. Thanks for this!

  15. I love the fretless + E bow, that’s a really nice combo. Gets you those nice in-between notes, very cool and creative approach.

  16. Out of all that was demo ‘ed the Mellotron is my fav.
I’ve had mine for a few years.
I love how you can select 2 instruments/voices and then use the A-B knob to choose blend or isolate with A & B pot
