How to Actually Fix a Bad-Sounding Note

What can cause a metal, sliding kind of sound while bowing a certain note? I’ve tried more rosin, less rosin, different speeds, cleaning strings, etc. I’m a beginner. Literally like 2 weeks LOL but I played guitar for 30 yrs. I know, not the same instrument. I can already play 3 songs. Sometimes really well. Just wanted your opinion on this.
I’m not an expert and I don’t know if this is the solution…?..but ‘I’ had similar trouble because of ‘the weight’ of my bow, so I bought a good quality bow and it made a big difference. The bow I originally had came with the violin, it was a very good quality violin but I tried everything and when I bought a good quality bow, I saw big improvements. I’m just saying ‘this’ is something to consider? If your bow is too ‘light’ it can make things difficult. The bow I then bought was approx Ā£50 and is called
I violini. This is just something to consider, that’s all. I’m not saying it will solve your specific problemš. Perhaps if you send Mrs Sparrow an email, she will guide you more accurately. Bearing in mind, you must be holding the bow at the correct angle, so try ‘THIS FIRST’ before you consider spending any money.š
My F and F# are difficult on my e string don’t seem precise…. Thank you.
The notes on the G string all sounded flat and uninspired to me, today. Can a lack of enough rosin cause this? What about the bow angle?
