JANE DOE – Chainsaw Man: Reze Arc ED [Piano] / Kenshi Yonezu x Hikaru Utada

Chainsaw Man Job 2025– Part 3: JANE DOE

JANE DOE might be my personal preferred tune in the whole CSM series, and having the dream mix of Utada Hikaru and Yonezu Kenshi feels nearly unbelievable. I listen to both artists a lot in my downtime, so organizing this duet felt a bit like stepping into their artistic musical world.

The most significant obstacle was finding the balance in between over-arranging and too empty, all while keeping that mild swing pulse alive. It's a stealthily delicate song– if you include too much, it collapses; if you include insufficient, it loses its breath.

● Denji and Reze– a melancholic duet

I kept the melodic ranges consistent with the original duet: Yonezu in the center register, Utada above.

My favorite moment remains in 2:01, where both voices lastly satisfy. The right hand plays both singing lines at the same time so their melodies can melt together. It's such a satisfying moment on the – and also bittersweet, since their voices overlap just here. That was their fate: a brief minute together before everything slipped apart.

● Reze's inaccessible hope

Usually I would include a virtuosic flourish for the ending in 3:25, but the message of the tune– and the film– is the disaster of 2 individuals predestined never to reunite.

So instead, the ending becomes an elegy for Reze.
The tune rises greater and higher up until it almost vanishes, mirroring how she rises beyond Denji's reach. I always questioned: did she see Denji holding the flower bouquet? What would their first words have been if she had made it to the coffee shop?

● Denji left

Compare the outro in 4:21 with the intro at the beginning: the upper-layer tune is missing– due to the fact that of Reze's sudden lack in Denji's life.
And unlike most of my plans, the final chord doesn't resolve. It simply hangs there, suspended.

Denji is still waiting in the coffee shop for Reze– a story without a real ending, mirrored by music that refuses to settle.

You have most likely recognized currently, but I actually like this movie.

See you in my next upload again.

  1. When this man considered an arrangement “THE MOST FAVORITE”, you”ll know that it gonna be a LEGEND again🔥.

  2. 3 videos in a month, that’s like 2021 when we got this type of Animenz 🙏🏻😭

    1. reminds me of the days where he was dropping AOT covers for weeks on end, I miss seeing those covers come out

    1. Yeah a lot people underestimate how far the passion can get you

  3. Disappeared for over half a year, then come back with 3 bangers in a single month. Chainsaw goat

  4. The goat returns for Reze now we gotta pray he doesn’t disappear again 😭

  5. “It’s as if we were the only two left in this world–
I just couldn’t resist dreaming for a bit.”

Your piano brought it all flooding back 🥹
In another lifetime, things could have been different…

  6. I was expecting a strong climax at the end where the piano goes full fortissimo. We almost get one, but the piano just gradually quiets down after almost soaring through the clouds and into the sky. It didn’t feel satisfying at first, but then I thought about it: isn’t this what the entire movie is all about? A fleeting moment of passion and love, but with no conclusion at the end, like fireworks that instantly dies out after shining like a bright star in the sky. Animenz truly outdid himself with these Chainsaw Man arrangements, and I look forward to the final part (I honestly have no idea what it could be, I guess it will just be a surprise).

Edit: Holy shi a like from Animenz? Never expected that in a million years lol. I really appreciate it.

Edit: I learned something very important today, the heart from the channel owner disappears if I edit the comment 🥀

    1. same here . i was expecting an explosive finale but this makes sense with respect to the movie

    2. Same, I was disappointed at first, but after thinking about it, it’s really fitting the context of the movie, even though frustrating.

  7. Bro is going to drop bangers and then leave us hanging forever like Denji in the cafe 😢

    1. i really wonder if he’ll do others covers next or that this will be his last

  8. 2:01
    Where are you? (I’m here)

What are you doing? (I’ve always been watching over you)

“Let’s fill this world with mistakes”

    Stay by my side (….)

    Let’s go to play (….)

    Where are you?

    1. This is the only piano version I’ve seen that includes the responses and its SO PEAK!

  9. Is it just me, like the moment the song played at the cinema, especially the first part (the piano part), I never moved like fr I just stared at the big screen, like processing what just happened. That feeling I can’t really explain 😭

    1. SAME THE END CREDITS GAVE ME A FUCKING SHOCK I LOVED EVERYTHING IN THE CREDITS EVEN THE MENTION OF EVERY FUCKING STUDIO IN FUCKING EXISTANCE

  10. reze rlly made him show up after a year, drop 3 bangers and… please dont leave us again animenz…

  11. when he stops at 3:25 , it sounds horrifyingly like the starting chord to the actual song…. wow

  12. Nah guys he won’t leave, he will probably be searching for denji, and learn the ways to become the piano devil and captivate every single person across every media

  13. Let’s be honest – this was one of the best move in anime world, for like one-two years…
