Allison…what is the level(s) of violin sheet music on your sites?
Which sheet music specifically? The music on my patreon/subscription site?
If so, its prob all lower intermediate level. I wouldnt say its for beginners, but those who ‘can’ play. Not so much if your just starting out, but when you are able to play music, then thats the sort of level.
Hope that answers your question.

Hi Allison
How do you get that sort of smooth rise and fall of your wrist and still keep the bow straight? I try and it feels like when my wrist bends then I hit the neighboring string.
Also, I had to switch tutors. The lady I had is stuck on Suzuki and I didn’t want to be confused. Now I have a gentleman that is helping with my form as I follow your course. One thing he pointed out was that as I change strings, I’m not pausing enough so I hit the string before I actually have made the transition.
Lastly, we communicated before about my bridge maybe being too high. Hence, hitting more strings than I should at this point. so I took the violin in and you were right. That actually makes me feel good like it’s not completely my fault that I suck lol
They are fixing it today so I will get it back tomorrow.

And yes, with bow changing you need to sort of pause, then move. You’ll do this super quick at the blink of an eye eventually, but if you slowed me down doing it, I would almost pause then move.
You just have to relearn and re-train yourself to do this.
He sounds like he knows what he is doing anyway. Most teachers dont pick up these details in their students…
Glad you have the bridge being sorted. Is the Fiddlerman sorting you out? Did you mention I suggested it lol?
Did my first violin solo yesterday thanks to the violin lessons 1 to 30. The course really does work miracles everyone….believe her when she says it.
Thank you very much for today’s lesson.
It really helped a lot.
As a beginner scales are very important for good intonation.
For how long should I practice these scales (like in minutes). Should I practice scales before every lesson?
A good 20 mins at least – if you have a good amount of them. Dont just play them once each, play a few times at varying speeds for example.
Second, you can play them with separate bows, 2 slurred notes to a bow, 3 and 4 etc etc. You get the idea… 🙂
👍
Hi Allison, how do I stop bow bounce. Around the top half of the bow mainly when I use the E string it bounces uncontrollably
I have 3 videos coming, starting next week with 9 reasons and solutions for bow bouncing. There are too many to list and type out here, so watch out for those 🙂
