  1. Truly an underrated Beatles song. Though it’s sometimes overshadowed by Tomorrow Never Knows and Strawberry Fields Forever, Day in the Life honestly stands on its own as one of their best

    1. I don’t think it gets overshadowed by Tomorrow Never Knows very much. Tomorrow Never Knows was ahead of its time, but this track is much more ambitious.

    2. underrated? many regard this as the best beatles song of their entire catalog

  2. Amazing, you are very inspirating! I’m from Spain and I always watch your videos on afternoons.
By the way, where did you get that shirt??

    1. Thank you! I got the shirt at the Beatles store at The Mirage in Las Vegas 😊

  3. A day in the life was started on Thursday 19th January 1967 and on Friday 20th January they came in again to work on it. Excellent timing.

  4. This has always been one of my favourite Beatles songs, it’s definitely one of their most ambitious tracks and such a great closing song on one of the greatest records of all time

  5. Just awesome don’t know what else to say!!! BTW a thumb up just doesn’t do this video justice!!!

  6. Yes! I was hoping you would do another one of these again sometime, I really enjoyed the first one

  7. Absolutely incredible. The vocals are great because they aren’t annoying! Bass isn’t jangly enough but overall great performance!

  8. Excellent recording but I think the vocals could have used the vocal delay like John’s original recording, although I don’t know if you were going for an exact replication.

    Great job!

  9. Great video!
The words at the end of the track are “i will be your superman” or something like this backwards

  10. Paul’s piano playing is really excellent. Being able to conceive of, write and actually play pieces like this without formal tuition or ever reading music is really something.. Great job, David!

  11. Does this mean there will be another analysis of a Beatles song? Super cool!

  12. The 3 pianos – one was Abbey Road’s famous “Mrs Mills” piano – it’s an interesting sound, named for an interesting piano artist, look into her. P.S. Did the singer just sing “Four thousand whores”? omg lol

  13. That was great. From the look on your face, I think the alarm clock might have been your favourite moment!
Speaking of your forthcoming analysis of ADITL, there’s a channel called ixi music who just did an analysis of Airbag by Radiohead, which was pretty great, plus she mentioned she’s going to do the whole of OK Computer. You should check her out. Surely must be right up your street!

  14. I am a bit perplexed as to why we are so determined to replicate old songs instead of bringing new works into existence.
