Is It Bad to Learn Violin From YouTube?

You are right I followed your violin tuition fir a while then it disappeared
I disagree. If you follow all of Alisons instructions in sequence and practice regular and assuming you have the willpower/determination to play, I can’t see why you would have a problem? Bearing in mind ….you must be serious about learning.
The only tutor around me was $80 an hour.
I couldnt afford that.
But you don’t need to as long as you’re committed and follow Alison. I have followed her from scratch and done so regularly and taken notice of what she has to say with regards to trouble shooting etc, etc and because I’m analytical and determined, I have gone from zero to advanced beginner in approx 6/7 months. You have to be committed to learning the violin, not half hearted.
Awww. I used to learn violin watching your videos!! 🤩
My violin is gathering dust😢
She’s golden! When I first started I watched several videos and pointed me in the right direction. This was years ago. At the time I was barely a year in and was able to start improvising from the sheet music. Uhm four years later I stopped practicing so.. practicing is very important. I did almost an hour a day then once I started playing music it was enjoyable so three or four hours a day. My shoulder hurt but I got better fast.
I’ve been scrutinising posture and all the techniques to get you started with violin at this stage is crucial to get the right techniques, correct? to Be honest, I keep an open mind about is it bad to learn violin on YouTube?
