I enjoy your videos so much. Before I found your videos, I struggled a lot learning how to play the violin. I did not know what practice or even how to practice. But your videos explaining everything in detail and small bite-size chunks really have helped and made a difference in my violin playing. I know making these videos is not easy it takes a lot of time dedication and patience. And I’m really grateful to you. Thank you very much. I think the most difficult thing for me to learn, was the music how to read it, but your Books really did help. Because of my vision problems, I’ve had to memorize every piece that I wanted to play because I can’t read it as I play. Your Books really do help and I would highly recommend them.
Hey Alison,
I am in your 1-30 course for 4 years now. And in fact everything in book 21-30 make me struggling or hinder me staying motivated sometimes. 3rd position, staccato and spiccato for example 🙈
Greating from Germany
lessons 21-30 ARE hard, but they are necessary as the final part of the puzzle needed to complete your violin education. Once you have learned everything in that book, there isn’t much else new to learn – yo ujust advance and progress onwards from that point.
Don’t stress about nailing Book 3/lessons 21-30 as this IS where you’ll slow down significantly.
Also, up until now, progress would have been quite fast and fluent, and now its not – because you’re doing far more advanced things in my course that others at a similar level are doing – believe me.
Keep going and keep at the exercises. I promise you will get there albeit the progress will be slow – thats fine. Just dont stop or give up.
Hello Alison I can’t find the sheet music for Waiting For Love in the link under that video. Could u help?
Thank you again and Happy Valentine’s Day. ❤❤❤❤❤
The change from a keyboard instrument (Akkordeon for 20 years) to Violin strings.
I bought the whole course almost a year ago. I’m not progressing very fast as I’m only on the first finger exercises, but it’s my own fault. I don’t practice nearly as much as I should but my cat can’t stand when I play. She literally cries like she does when she thinks she’s been left alone. It’s really pitiful. I practice about 5 minutes every couple of weeks. If I could practice more I would be a lot further along. I love how the lessons are set up. I don’t know why but I have a hard time with number 4 on both the open string and first finger exercises. I’m still excited to get through the exercises and play the songs though.
California here. My big fingers. Are my issue
You are amazing.. Im a guitarist and i heard a song, a violin sont so I’ll be purchasing a violin this month .. Ill start by watching your lessons ❤
also I just can’t seem to access the course
The free one
I would have to say playing long value notes (minim and semibreve) especially in slow pieces are a challenge because it is difficult for me to get a smooth good consistent tone without hearing any scratches or my bow getting closer to hitting the other strings. I guess it comes down to bow control in the end though.
I’ve been following for about as long as you’ve been on here. I was on another account back then but I never left. ❤
For me, scales, key signatures and that sort of thing
As an adult beginner(27y) I found it hard to tune my violin.😅
I don‘t really know the notes, cause i just got started and with your help i could figure out what a G,D,A or E-String should sound like🙏🏼
But though i got a micro tuner from D‘Addario (God bless you for this recommendation❤️) I wasn‘t sure if i should tighten or loosen the string to get to the note it should be.
I spend hours to tune my violin since i changed the strings with Pirastros Tonicas and i was very careful with the pegs just like you taught me to not break the strings but got kind of frustrated cause the micro tuner was showing notes like B or F for example😂
All i did was to tighten the strings slowly and watched what my micro tuner was telling me🙏🏼
Bow-Control and Left hand issues are surely gonna be a challenge but I believe in my self and love my violin🎻❤️
Thank you truly for helping people🥹you‘re the best❤️
