STORY BEHIND THE TUNE.
The idea: A couple months ago the 5 people were collected round a piano prepping for a video shoot scheduled for that day. We were brainstorming ideas when among us (can't remember who!) left task and starting snapping a piano string. Given that everyone are poster children for ADHD, it wasn't long before everyone had taken part– composing a beat, plucking a string, or hitting keys. The conceptualizing meeting had been undermined beyond repair work, but another music video idea was born!
The tune: We went through several tune possibilities prior to landing on "What Makes You Lovely" by One Instructions. We like this song because it's catchy and the music, lyrics, and video passed our "sesame street" test (significance household friendly). We thought about the ramifications of taking on a teenybopper kid band tune as five middle-aged married guys who are frantically holding on to their hairlines. One of us even has a boy older than the guys in One Instructions (we will not state who):–RRB- BUT you understand us– we like a great difficulty! This one was so enjoyable to compose that the "obstacle" part of it never was felt. We just imitated kids playing the piano and it completely worked!:–RRB- After we found out the primary "strategies" of playing the piano unconventionally we enjoyed explore swapping out chords and throwing the structure of the song around up until it clicked.
The location: Where to movie? Fitting in video shoots between touring, writing, recording, editing, and spending time with family has constantly been an obstacle. Let's be honest, even getting all 5 of us in the same location at the exact same time has actually been a challenge! We had a big sold-out show at the Sandy, Utah Amphitheater. All of us determined to be at the program and movie the video right on stage at some point between sound check and the performance. Seems like a great idea right? Well … due to the fact that of a lot of aspects, consisting of weather (we had a substantial storm sweep in and knock whatever down on stage during sound check) the only time we had to film was between the hours of 2AM – 7AM the morning of the performance. In the video at 2:30 you can see the morning light begin breaking– we actually played into the daybreak!:–RRB-.

They really have a different way of inspiring people. I grew up playing the piano but I never really fell in love with it until I watched this video and I was able to see the many things just one simple piano can do! They have changed they way I view music in general.
