This is my piano plan of Ao no Sumika– the very first OP style of Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2 by Tatsuya Kitani. It's absolutely one of my favorite Anime OP tunes in 2023 since I just like how "blue" the song is: The sudden peaceful dynamics in the intro 0:04, the endless calm atmosphere in the verse 0:10, the subtle "school bells" echoing in the bridge 1:53. It's like the music is inviting us to dive into a clear blue summer season sky and I attempted to catch the "blue" environment in the piano as much as possible.
① Enabling the piano to "breathe".
I included numerous horizontal motions in the piano to provide the piano a huge and open texture, matching the "blue" atmosphere of the original song. For instance, in the very first verse 0:10 the left hand is playing a subtle counter tune without being too balanced. And in the 2nd verse 1:28, the right hand is playing an ornamentation in a very high variety without interfering with the primary tune excessive.
② The real MVP of the effective chorus melody.
The distinct left-hand pattern played an important function in the chorus 0:48. I wanted to stress the syncopation of the drums as much as possible and as an outcome I utilized precise pedaling to offer the left hand a short minute of time out before each syncopation. There is constantly a great deal of experimentation involved to find the best pattern for the left hand. But once I can "hear" the initial tune with the left hand alone, it's a good accompaniment.
③ Finale: From Blue to Purple.

It ends with an "open" chord Gbmaj7 (IV) in 3:20, which is rather unusual for my arrangement because I normally end with a Tonic chord (I). However in this case, the "open" chord is ideal to make the arrangement sound "unlimited". Which means, the plan has actually lastly reached brand-new unlimited state – Hollow Technique: Purple.
Last but not least, have you noticed the genius sound instructions in episode 5? The "applause" sound has actually been haunting Geto for a very long time after his failed objective and I like how they overlapped the sound of the showers and the rain drops with the sound of applause in particular scenes. It's an outstanding depiction of Geto's deteriorating mindset by using that cursed "applause" noise. I hope we can look forward for more of these innovative sound instructions in future Jujutsu Kaisen episodes!

Hidden Inventory Arc has been great. I love how Gojo’s backstory was handled.
Honestly Hidden Inventory is by far my favorite part of S2.
The Shibuya arc has been boring to me for months now, too many fights in a row and the animation is too irregular for my taste (MAPPA’S fault for exploiting their animators).
