This would make an interesting topic for a video. I wonder how many other iconic songs were written by a musician on an instrument they weren’t known for?

I watched a video where they where talking about a really famous riff and song (Completely forgot what song or bad though aaaaa) and the backstory is that it was the guitarist warmup / exercise riff and he was even embarrassed about it. (shouldn’t be too hard to google)
