  1. God, I really wish the “shout choruses” would come back into the mainstream music.

  2. I love Sir Duke!
In fact I rarely hear pure Jazz but a lot of songs and Genres with Jazz influence.

  3. We played this in High School pepband when it was new on the radio. šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰šŸŽ‰

  4. This was my favorite song when it was on the charts. It’s still on my playlist

  5. I’m so glad there’s a name for this. It reminds me of my favorite moment in the last episode of Ed, Edd & Eddy, a show which already has one of the best jazz scores ever, there’s this moment where you hear the whole brass section playing this badass melody together and it is the FATTEST sound ever!

  6. I’m currently practicing this song on Bass and is really groove to play, I might upload a video playing it šŸ˜‰

  7. There was a program on the USA network back in the early 80’s called Night Flight. It was a mish mash of programs one of which was videos from the Apollo Theater. That’s where I heard and saw Sir Duke Ellington play Caravan with some well respected Jazz musicians of his day including the trumpet player who wrote the tune. I got kinda hooked on Jazz right there. I’ve heard it done by a few other artists but that live rendition is still my favorite Jazz tune.

  8. Something I’ve noticed about this song that I’ve never heard anyone ever mention is that the verse melody is the same as in Sam Cooke’s (What a) Wonderful World.
