thanks
You are absolutely right 🙈🙈 i practice intonation. Scales, arpeggios, rhythms but it is a long time ago i did the „60 seconds per bow“ challenge 😅
I can see I need to work on my tone. I listen to the violinists at church and I don’t sound like they do…..
Thanks! I barely have time to learn the violin but your explanations and advice are always great! I bought the Stentor II violin and the Sartory rosin like you recommended and I think that decision was totally worth it back then 🙂 Now I hope I eventually get time to dedicate to learning the violin, I’m 37 but we are never too old to learn 😄
Oh god no way,, you still looks so gorgeous ❤️

The bow needs to be tightened not too much. Adjusting it sometimes can change your tones….
Yes, that’s very true – a loose bow or overly tight bow will both affect your sound production.
Hi, im a new subscriber and revisiting an instrument that a school music teacher scared me off from learning. So I was 8 or something, and wanted to learn the guitar but the guitar that the teacher had was off limits to all . Violin appealed to me because of the strings. This was 40+ years ago.. whilst learning, the teacher had a habit of hitting my hand with a bow when I got things wrong, so I gave it up and up hating the instrument. Fast forward to 2020 , I self taught the guitar, and now have a collection of 7 , oops.. so the violin, was then becoming an itch , that i had to deal with , I threw caution to the wind and bought a second hand thomann 4/4 . Im not 1 for music lessons, so decided to search the world of YouTube. Found you! Utilising your videos, and learnt a very simple version of starwars 😅 needed music that i can relate to. Playing guitar has definitely helped me to pick up the violin, only bit that I need to tame is the bow, but your video on bow hold etc has helped a lot.
Thank you for your videos and your easy to follow instructions. Iv got a long journey ahead of me , but iv made a start.
I always listen for the tone and adjust the pressure and speed. Glad to have the correct term now. I was calling it intonation. Is there a technique where the bow is angled slightly as it crosses the strings?
