Haha, my nails just grow quickly is all, and I have a holiday coming up so no, im not playing (performances etc) in the run up to that coincidentally so im enjoying them whilst i can 🙂
In a word: No
Oddly enough, I seem to be doing most things right, although my playing doesn’t reflect that. LOL I do tend to build in sections – bars 1-8, then say 8-12, and then play 1-12. Then onto the next few bars, and then incorporate into the preceding bars. In other, words, building the piece bit by bit, while constructing the whole – if that makes sense. I also do tend to go on when I make a mistake, except for a (to me) significant hesitation at the time. Where I struggle is when I go back and try and fix that mistaken bit. I’ll think, “right, I’ve got this now.” Except the very next time I play through, I aint got it and make a mistake at the same spot, again and again… I’ll try slowing it down, I’ll try just a few bars, until it gets to the point that the bars I’m thinking about are ones that serve liquid libations. Very frustrating.

I generally play the whole piece. If I run into an issue I’ll focus on that bit, then get back to the piece. But I’m just playing pop melodies.
I do need to work on the joins. Thanks for the tips.
