omg yes, I had not realized that your channel was active! I just started learning violin yesterday and you popped up in my Youtube search currently going over your most recent course! Do you have any recommendations for beginners learning the violin. I’m 32 y/o, so time is sometimes limited but I can always squeeze in some practice time. Do you have any book recommendations or do you feel that I should first complete your 10 episode course before jumping into any books? I appreciate your help with this and all of the effort you’ve put into making these vids/courses! Have a blessed day!
Id recommend sticking to my course (or your chosen course – whichever you prefer) and make sure you learn a good amount before moving on to other stuff as thats when it starts getting a bit confusing as you end up trying to branch out before the basics have set in and you have physically learned enough.
Second, my book course includes pieces you can play that are at the exact level you would be at at the end of each 10 lessons.

I’m so glad you made this video. I found myself venturing off and watching tutorials and I think it has had a negative effect. I am getting too much information. I thought it would benefit me on things I need improvement on but has taken me away from my lessons. So I’m only getting frustrated. Back to your lessons it is for me. It’s just taking me a long time but what’s the rush right? Whatever time it takes is the time it takes. Guess I’m just slow. Thanks Alison.
