  1. i was late so i didnt get to ask this question but have you ever seen a maj11#5 chord? and would it have any use other than resolving down a minor third. for eg Amaj11#5 to F#m7

  2. I was honestly surprised by your RATM comments. I thought it was a little too political for your tastes. And I personally LOVE Rage Against The Machine. So thanks, David. Good luck on your journey to the 1 million sub club.

  3. Oh dang I forgot to ask a question. Do you like Don McLean?. But good job on the Deserve all of it.

  4. I love the concept of Paul’s “Cheeseland”, lol. I’d want to hear more of your thoughts about which of Paul’s songs do and don’t inhabit that land!

    1. @Al the Alligator I wouldn’t say For No One is a cheesy song, I think it shows maturity beyond the age of a 24 yr old

    2. @Elliot Yeah that’s obviously true, and that’s why I didn’t put in at the top of the playlist, but it’s still written specifically in a similar way to a lot of other songs in here.

Edit: tbh it looks like I wasn’t finished putting them in order lol

  5. Hey David! Why do they call it the blues? (I just watched the Elton John biopic last night)

  6. I so disappointed, that I missed this. I do beg you if you haven’t heard them to listen too Greenslade, a brilliant group who were around for only 4 years in the 70’s. They are a mixture of Jazz, classical and prog rock, be interested too know what you think. I too absolutely love the Beatles, and being born in the early 60’s I can remember some of their songs first time round.

  7. David you’re one of my favorite creators. I’ll never forget when you took the time to answer a question about the softwares you were using for your videos. You’re a great guys. Talented and humble. I still use musescore today even with my students. Thanks a lot.

  8. Your REALLY GOOD! My husband was super into composing in the late and early 2000s, grandparents lol, jk He’s one of the SUPER TALENTED PEOPLE WITH TO BIG OF A HEART TO FAIL. He put up a super unedited horribly sounding demo of him looping a beat. He plays guitar bass drums really good, and the keys a lil. His name is Aaron Montgomery it’s here on YouTube. Fyi. Thank you I’m sure he’d love to meet you?

  9. Thanks for the live stream. Didn’t know you were going to do it. I am considering doing an OU music degree. Can you do a video on your experience of doing a music degree?

  10. My love to David, the amount of your contribution in my music learning is huge. Cheers for 600K subs. You have to teach many more though

  11. You like the Oasis songs and style that I specifically don’t like. I think the album Definitely Maybe (debut album) WAS innovative in many ways, nothing sounded anywhere close at the time. It was a debut album that was very alternative with a punk/rock sound , and that went to No1 in the UK, it was a real slap in the face, something quite extraordinary. The second album (What’s the Story…) was the most commercially successful of all, and has the biggest hits, and it’s a brillant album, but it was already showing the boring side of Oasis in places (the repetitive nature of Noel’s songwriting,, the cliche lyrics, the parody of their own sound). The 3rd album was a disaster imo. Then I lost interest. I think if you haven’t lived through the Oasis craze from the beginning, it’s hard to feel that way as the sound of the first album ends up not being representative of Oasis as a whole, and it’s hard to realise how much the band did change between 1994 and 1996.

  12. Regarding the song Hallelujah, I always see the chord in question as a G# diminished (or E7/G#, so if you want it to be E then it would be E major), the reason being that it is used in the context of an ascending bass line going G, G#, A. That’s how I hear it in the version from Jeff Buckley anyway. It’s similar to the Oasis’s song ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, in the bridge (“Take that look from off your face”), you have the exact same movement. And that ‘mystery’ chord is often played wrong, but the reality is that you were on the G, and you move the bass the G# while keeping the G chord (but removing the G note that would clash), and that makes it a G# diminished if you have to name it.
